51. First Defender

The player nearest to the ball, when a team gives up possession, is the first player to pressure

52. First Post

The post nearest to the ball.

53. First Touch

The players first contact with the ball.

54. Flank

The area of the field 10 to 15 yards from the the touchlines

55. Flick

A light touch, intended to extend a balls original path.

56. Formation

The arrangement of the players on the pitch.
For example 4-4-2, 3-4-3, 5-4-1
The first number always refers to the defense (not counting the goalie), the second refers to the midfielders. The third number refers the forwards.

58. Friendly

An organized scrimmage, teams play to gain experience.

59. Give and Go

A play requiring 2 teammates to work together, 1 to make the pass and break immediately into space, and the other to pass the ball into space for the player making the run. Also known as Give and Go, A one-two pass, or wall pass.

61. Goal

There are 2 definitions:
1.They consist of two upright posts, joined at the top by a horizontal crossbar. It is 8 yds in length and 8 ft high.
2. The term for when a point is scored.

62. Goal Area

The area inside the goal box.

63. Goal Box

The smaller of the two boxes in the penalty area. Where the goal kick is taken. also known as the six because its six yards from the goal line.

64. Goal Kick

A kick taken from with in the goal box, if the attacking team kicks the ball past the defending teams goal line.

65. Goalie

The player that guards the goal, He is the only player on the field allowed to use his hands.

66. Header

A ball hit with the head.

67. Indirect Free Kick

A free kick given for minor fouls. It requires the ball to be touched twice before the goal can be scored.

68. Injury Time

Extra time the referee adds to regulation time, to make up for injuries and subs.

69. Keeper

70. Kick-Off

A way to start and restart a match:
At the start of a match
After a goal has been scored
At the start of the second half.

71. Laces

To strike the ball with the top of the foot. Usually where the shoelaces are.

72. Late Tackle

To hit the player immediately after his release of the ball.

73. Laws of the Game

The name for the official rules of soccer.

74. Long Ball

A ball played up field very directly, usually in the air.

75. Man On

To warn a teammate an opponent is near.
